How to Work With Us

How a contract gets done with a one-person firm

Iris Media Services works two ways: as a prime on small contracts, and as a subcontractor to larger primes. Either way, the person you talk to is the person who does the work.

Engagement models

As a prime

For small contracts, task orders, and micro-purchases sized for a single senior architect. Suited to defined Drupal work: a modernization project, an accessibility remediation, or a scoped build with a clear deliverable.

Best fit: requirements one experienced person can own end to end.

As a subcontractor

Drupal specialist depth added to a larger prime's team. Useful when a program needs proven Drupal architecture, migration, or 508 experience without standing up a separate firm.

Best fit: teaming where a prime holds the vehicle and needs the Drupal seat filled well.

The process

Five steps, no account layer

  1. Reach out

Send the requirement, the vehicle if there is one, and the timeline. A short email is enough to start.

  2. Scope call

A 30-minute call to confirm the work is a fit for a single architect, surface risks, and agree on rough size. If it is not a fit, you get a straight answer.

  3. Statement of work

A written scope with deliverables, assumptions, and a schedule — sized honestly to one person's capacity.

  4. Build & deliver

Work in the open: a shared environment, regular check-ins, and code and configuration you can review as it lands.

  5. Handoff

Documentation, a walkthrough, and a maintainable configuration your team can carry forward without the original author.

What you can expect

  • One named senior architect on every task
  • Honest scoping to a single person's capacity
  • Work you can review as it is built
  • A maintainable handoff, not a dependency

What helps most from you

  • Access to the current site or codebase early
  • A named technical point of contact
  • The real constraint: budget, deadline, or compliance date
